To enable teens and young adults with developmental disabilities to be included in their community through teen and young adult mentoring and therapeutic recreation strategies; and to assist them in developing the social skills and independence level necessary to make the transition from school to an adulthood offering a richer, more normalized life.
SPANNER is a non-profit organization that pairs teens and young adults with disabilities to high school and college students, as well as young professionals to serve as their mentors. SPANNER is an acronym that loosely stands for Special Population Achieving Normalcy through Education and Recreation.
